Cyclists who work on balancing the strength of their lower body muscles (quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves) and abdominals may discover an increase in power and cadence in cycling. It is common for cyclists to overdevelop muscles of the quadriceps, so the hamstring ball curl will improve the strength of the muscles in the back of the leg. This exercise also incorporates core stabiltiy on the ball.
