Have you seen your game recently? Someone your age playing your favorite sport with all the vigor and excitement of a dedicated athlete? If so, chances are it was at a Senior Games event. More than 300,000 men and women over the age of 50 participate each year across the United States. Every two years, the best of them gather at the National Senior Games to compete for the Gold. Next time it will be in San Francisco in August 2009. Will you be there? Well, then it's time to prepare.

Once you have qualified at your State Senior Games Championships in 2008, prepare yourself for some serious competition. Tie your sneakers and head to the gym. Join a club or a team. Most important, talk to a coach who can design an exercise regimen that will help you reach your personal best. Athletes over 50 need to train carefully, avoid injuries and get smart about nutrition. Select your sport on the left to find training tips and workout suggestions. Have fun playing your game, and we'll see you in San Francisco!
